Gary Gygax's Dangerous Journeys (Mythus)

This should be all the official (physically) published content for Dangerous Journeys. (it was not exactly cheap to acquire some of them.) I kind of went down this rabbit hole because people were not happy with the Frog God Games' 5E version of Necropolis (it was watered down and integrated into FGG's house setting) and I was curious about the OG version. (I also have the d20 conversion which expands upon the DJ text somewhat.)

The GM screen isn't in the best shape but because the packet consists of 2 cardboard screens and a booklet, I opted for an eBay listing that showed pictures of all the parts, to ensure it was complete. (I have another copy on the way.)

Epic of Ærth has a few loose pages that had been re-glued into the back in the wrong order, so I re-detached them.

The third novel is a Canadian printing rather than American like the other two. American printings DO exist but I'm not too fussed about it (the only notable difference seems to be the copyright page). It's kind of funny that the first volume has an embossed and full foil cover, the second has just embossing, and the third has neither.

The sourcebooks form this wedge pattern across the spines. Kind of. It's not perfect.

Here's my collection of the Palladium Fantasy 1st edition books, just to show off...

I don't have the GM screen (feels like nobody does).

I opted for the later rulebook printing with illustrated cover because it's the one I remember a junior high classmate had. (Monsters and Animals also has an earlier printing with different cover.)

This was a time when the AD&D DMG was leisure reading for me, so somehow I was able to slog through the text without complaining too much. I can't say that I ever really actually grasped the system (or tried to create a character with it, like with AD&D). What has become clear, though, is that all this reading must have contributed in some way to me ending up in the technical writing field too (but not specifically trained in it—I learned on the job).

Since Rifts is built on the same system, for snarky commentary on that, there's Back to the Rifter.

Oh noooo this round sees Wyll vs Astarion! Both of these characters are romance options in Baldur's Gate 3, one a vampire, the other a monster hunter --- I think... they should kiss... (i do write a lot of wyllstarion fanfics on my ao3 *cough*).
